Netflix Squid Game II, The Rave, Drumsheds 2024
Visual direction and VJ performance with Peggy Gou
Held at Drumsheds in London, this one-off event celebrated the launch of Squid Game Season 2 with a surreal, immersive rave headlined by Peggy Gou.
Studio Prince developed the visual aesthetics and screen content for a floating 48-metre transparent LED wall that evolved across four DJ sets. Each set was themed around the show’s iconography (circle, triangle, square, and the Front Man mask), unfolding like a journey into the visual language of the series.
The approach was minimal in use but maximal in impact, highly atmospheric and deliberately restrained. Visuals emerged and dissolved like afterimages, pulsing in time with the music and using darkness as material. Screens became a membrane between audience and space, growing in intensity with each performance.
For Peggy Gou’s headline set, the screen became a threshold: a visual floodgate of rhythmic abstraction, show references, and custom iconography, combining live VJ performance with cinematic restraint.
Part installation, part sensory overload, the show fused dancefloor energy with real-time visual performance, culminating in a full-screen countdown that slowly dissolved 10,800 numbered tracksuits, one for every second until Peggy’s entrance.
